Army Duck Tour

Experience the tropical rainforest from a totally unique perspective aboard an amphibious World War II Army Duck or DUKW (colloquially known as Duck).  These historical vehicles which hold up to 30 passengers and uses a 6 wheel drive, propeller and rudder. During this 45 minute rainforest tour, your knowledgeable Duck Captain will identify and explain fascinating plants and wildlife as you pass by before splashing into the lake for a cruise with more wildlife to be seen.  After your tour, visit the tropical fruit orchard which features over 60 different species of exotic tropical fruit trees and you’ll learn about fruits of the region and the world.

Koala & Wildlife Park

Wander at your leisure through our Wildlife Park where a series of elevated boardwalks provide uninterrupted views of various Australian animals and reptiles.  Handfeed the free roaming kangaroos and wallabies in the landscaped gardens, observe the endangered cassowary and Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroo and see Neville and Dennis, the only Tasmanian Devils in Cairns! Sneak a peek at Juliet our sneaky wombat, meet Ned and Kelly the Alpine Dingoes and meet Ricky the cheeky Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo. Enter our reptile house and see a range of pythons and lizards and see the iconic Australian koala.  The star attraction of our Wildlife Park is “Jack the Ripper”, a 5 metre saltwater crocodile weighing at 650kgs with a reputation of killing 12 of his girlfriends in times gone by. Jack is kept in his own enclosure with an elevated platform perfect for your safe and close-up viewing.

Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience

The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience invites you to discover authentic Indigenous Australian culture.  Local Indigenous Pamagirri Guides welcome you to join them on a journey to discover the Dreamtime and learn about the fascinating customs and ancient traditions that are kept alive in the rainforest of Kuranda, in Tropical North Queensland.  The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience takes approximately 1 hour which includes both the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dance Performance held in the Rainforest Amphitheatre and the Dreamtime Walk conducted either before or after the show.

  • Departs: Approx 7.15-8.45am (subject to Cairns, Northern Beaches or Port Douglas pick up)
  • Returns: Approx 5.15-6.15pm (subject to Cairns, Northern Beaches or Port Douglas drop off)

9.50am – Travel Kuranda Scenic Railway. Wind through tunnels and over bridges on this magnificent journey, passing Stoney Creek and Barron Falls.

11.25am – Arrive Kuranda Railway Station. On arrival, please make your way straight up to the coach parking area. Food, drinks and toilets are only 5 minutes away. Your Driver Guide will meet you and direct you to your coach for your transfer to the village. Quick wander through Kuranda Village, the picturesque Village in the Rainforest. .

11.45am – Please be at the bus stop outside the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary to transfer to Rainforestation Nature Park. Your tour includes: – Enjoy delicious hot lunch at our restaurant. – Army Duck Rainforest Tour with Tropical Fruit Orchard. Travel deep into the rainforest on both land and water as your guide explains different species of flora and fauna. – Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience. Watch the Pamagirri Dancers perform in the rainforest amphitheatre, then join the Dreamtime Walk – learn to throw a boomerang and watch spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing. – Koala & Wildlife Park. Learn more about our native wildlife from our dedicated keepers. See crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary, and hand feed kangaroos and wallabies. You’ll have an opportunity to have a photo taken with a koala or holding a small crocodile.

3.00pm – Transfer to Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway Terminal for 3:15pm boarding. The 7.5km Skyrail journey takes 40 minutes, however we recommend you spend time at the two stations enroute: Red Peak Station and Barron Falls Station. Ensure you download Skyrail’s multi-lingual Interpretive App and Audio Guide from the App Store or Google Play.

4.45pm – Your coach will be at the Caravonica Skyrail Terminal to transfer you to your accommodation.
