- DAY 1. CHECK IN – HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
Upon arrival into Cairns, please make your own way to your hotel. Check in time is 2pm – if arriving earlier you can drop your bags off at the hotel and then have a walk around the city or relax on the Cairns Esplanade whilst you wait for your room to be ready.
If arriving by plane, your hotel will only be a short 10 minute Taxi or Uber ride. If arriving by train, your hotel will be a short 5 minute Taxi or Uber ride.
- DAY 2. CAIRNS TO THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
The Great Barrier Reef is an international icon and now it’s your time to experience it for yourself. This amazing full day tour takes you to the Great Barrier Reef, with up to 6 hours spent exploring it from above and below the water. Enjoy unlimited snorkeling, with equipment and instruction provided, at 2 different reef sites.
We have a selection of 5 spectacular reef locations and each day, the Captain assesses the weather and other conditions and selects up to two optimal diving and snorkeling reefs based on the comfort and safety of the passengers and the vessel. We have permits for Norman Reef, Hastings Reef, Saxon Reef, Breaking Patches and Jorgensen Patch.
Want to try scuba diving for the first time? You can do it for free today (subject to flight & medical restrictions). There’s also glass bottom boat tours, pending conditions, and plenty of time to just relax on board the boat too.
This great value day tour is packed with inclusions. All meals and snacks, including a bacon and egg roll in the morning, fresh buffet lunch, iced water and tea and coffee throughout the day with cheese, wine and biscuits served on the way back. There’s complimentary sunblock available on board the boat and an interactive Marine Biology presentation, will reveal the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef ecosystem and some of its creatures.

- DAY 3. DAINTREE RAINFOREST & CAPE TRIBULATION
Today it’s all about the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed Rainforest, with a premium day tour to the Daintree National Park. You’ll travel in small group (max 14 passengers), aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Stopping to enjoy the sights, sounds and ambience of this complex tropical environment, throughout the day.
We start with pick-ups from Cairns and the Northern Beaches. Those guests will enjoy a scenic tour on the Great Barrier Reef drive, to Port Douglas. After collecting any additional guests it’s a quick trip to the top of Flagstaff Hill lookout for views over 4 Mile Beach. From here, we head to the rainforest, starting our exploration at Mossman Gorge. After a cold drink, or local tea and coffee, you’ll take a guided tour of the Gorge, with the option of swimming in the crystal-clear waters. Afterwards, enjoy a restaurant lunch with choice of meals, before we continue our adventure with a 1-hour cruise on the mighty Daintree River.
Then we head into the Daintree National Park and explore the rainforest, on a guided boardwalk tour. We visit the famous Cape Tribulation Beach, where the reef meets the rainforest, and stop by the Daintree Ice-Cream Company in the afternoon. Here you have the option of purchasing a tropical fruit ice-cream (at your own expense), before we head back to Port Douglas, the beaches and Cairns. BYO towel if you want to swim at Mossman Gorge.
- DAY 4. WATERFALLS, TABLELANDS & PARONELLA PARK
Our full day tour will allow you to experience the must-see attractions on the Atherton Tablelands. You’ll travel in small group (max 20 passengers), aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned coaster bus. Take in the beauty of the ever changing country scenery as we meander our way through the Tablelands, enjoying multiple stops along the way. Explore a volcanic crater lake and the surrounding 1000-year-old twin kauri pines , swim and relax in a refreshing rainforest waterfall and view the giant Curtain Fig Tree, all whilst learning about the area’s ancient natural history and farming culture.
You day begins with travelling south of Cairns past Walsh’s Pyramid, a Cairns icon and one of the largest naturally formed pyramids in the world at over 900 metres in height, before we head west up the Gillies Range into the beautiful Atherton Tablelands. Our first stop is in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area at Lake Barrine where you will enjoy a guided walk with our expert guide and a delicious devonshire morning tea. Continuing our journey with a driving tour through the quaint township of Yungaburra which showcases many heritage-listed buildings as we make our way to the majestic Curtain Fig Tree, which towers more than 45 metres into the rare Mabi forest. We then drive through the historical dairy town of Malanda with rolling green pastures home to many dairy farms, before arriving at Millaa Millaa Falls, where you can relax or have a swim under the rainforest waterfall.
Descending the Atherton Tablelands via the Palmerston Highway to the coastal town of Innisfail, where stop at a local hotel for lunch before visiting Paronella Park (Spanish Castle ruins). You will enjoy 2 hours at Paronella Park with a guided walk and plenty of photo opportunities, from Kauri Avenue to Teresa Falls, the Grand Staircase and suspension bridge over Mena Creek Falls. Making our way back to Cairns and if time permits, we may make a stop at Babinda Boulders on the way home.
- DAY 5. SKYRAIL RAINFOREST CABLEWAY – KURANDA VILLAGE – KURANDA SCENIC RAILWAY
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway glides just metres over the rainforest on a 7.5km journey, from Caravonica to Kuranda. Travelling in 6-person gondola cabins, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Barron Gorge National Park, Barron Gorge itself and Barron Falls. There’s two mid-station stops along the way, where you can explore the rainforest on boardwalks and pathways, including a cantilevered bridge over the Gorge.
The Skyrail journey to Kuranda takes around 90-minutes, if you stop at both the Red Peak and Barron Falls Stations. Stopping is highly recommended, there’s Ranger guided tours and a range of interpretive displays and materials. Skyrail ends at Kuranda, the Village in the Rainforest, and is adjacent to the railway terminal, where you’ll commence your trip back at the end of the day.
Kuranda is a quaint village, full of markets, shops, boutiques, cafes, galleries, restaurants and tourist attractions. It also has self-guided walking trails. Enjoy a few hours here, where you can tailor your time to suit your interests. Lunch is at your own expense. In the afternoon, you return to Cairns on Kuranda Scenic Railway. This historic journey takes you back through the Barron Gorge National Park, providing a completely different and complementary experience to Skyrail. Another great day, in our natural paradise.

- DAY 6. CHECK OUT OF HOTEL
Check out time of your hotel is 10am – if departing Cairns later in the day you can store your bags at the hotel after checking out of your room and then have a walk around the city or relax on the Cairns Esplanade.
If departing by plane, the airport will only be a short 10 minute Taxi or Uber ride. If departing by train, the Cairns Railway Station will be a short 5 minute Taxi or Uber ride.
