This boutique small group reef tour provides a personal and unique reef experience by taking only 36 passengers and visiting a Coral Cay and the Outer Barrier Reef all in the same day. Enjoy guided snorkel tours at two completely different locations, scuba diving (optional), lunch and a glass bottom boat tour. Travelling in a fast air conditioned catamaran you will visit Michaelmas Cay (a seabird and turtle sanctuary), before venturing further into the outer reef system to the spectacular Hastings Reef.
Introductory Scuba Dive
No experience or dive license required! The first scuba dive is in the calm shallow waters at Michaelmas Cay. With the assistance of your attentive instructor you are taken carefully down to a comfortable depth of approximately 7 metres. Deep enough to be enthralling but at the same time shallow enough not to be daunting, the balance is just right.
Certified Diving
Departing from the rear of the vessel, certified divers follow the descent line down to a comfortable depth of aproximately 8 metres. The mooring blocks are literally adjacent to the first “bommie” a distinctive type of coral growth. From here your guide will show through what is a maze of coral (it takes several weeks for the Dive Masters to fully learn and understand this area). Those more experienced divers can choose to be taken to the “Wild Side”, this is a one way dive, you enter the water from the dive tender and make a drift dive returning to the vessel.
