We start with the Tablelands Tour for a full day of discovery through the Wet Tropics rainforests of the Atherton Tablelands and Wooroonooran National Park. You will visit must-see attractions including Lake Barrine, Millaa Millaa Falls, the Curtain Fig Tree and of course, historic Paronella Park.  Next stop is the Great Barrier Reef. This full day tour provides you with up to 6 hours at the reef, visiting 2 reef sites, with plenty of time for snorkeling and a free scuba dive. As well as seeing the Great Barrier Reef firsthand, you’ll learn more about it with a Marine Biology presentation.

The third day takes you deep into the heart of the Daintree Rainforest World Heritage Area. Swim in the cool waters of Mossman Gorge, take in the views of Cape Tribulation Beach, where the reef meets the rainforest, and watch for crocodiles on a 1-hour Daintree River Cruise. Day four is all about Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, Kuranda Scenic Railway and Kuranda, the Village in the Rainforest. Transfers for the Tablelands Tour are included for cairns City Hotels, Northern beaches Hotels are an additional $30 per person. 

Transfers for the Great Barrier Reef tour are included for Cairns City Hotels, Northern Beaches Hotels are an additional $25 per person, payable to the driver on the day of travel.

Transfers for the Daintree Tour are included for Cairns City Hotel, Northern Beaches Hotels and Port Douglas Hotels.

Transfers for The Kuranda Day Tour are included for Cairns City Hotels. If you are staying at The Northern Beaches – you will need to make your own way to the Skyrail Terminal at Smithfield, as No Transfers are available. 

**Regarding Scuba Diving: Minimum age is 12 years. There are time restrictions for flying after diving and some medical conditions will prevent you from diving. Some of the more common conditions are Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Pregnancy and heart or lung conditions. Some other medical conditions/medications may also be a problem. If you are unsure about any specific condition please contact us.

Cancellation fees are as follows:
20% cancellation fee 30 days or more prior to departure
50% cancellation fee if within 30 days prior to departure
100% cancellation fee within 14 days prior to departure

  • DAY 1. TABLELANDS WATERFALLS, RAINFOREST & PARONELLA PARK

We ascend towards the Atherton Tablelands, stopping to appreciate the dramatic valley landscape and coastal vistas from Heales Lookout.  Lake Barrine, in Crater Lakes National Park, was etched in the landscape by volcanic activity more than 10,000 years ago and is now home to thriving life in and around its clear waters. Take a rainforest walk with our accredited guide to the towering twin kauri pines, minding to keep your eyes peeled for the abundant bird and butterfly life above, and even turtles, eels and water monitors in the waters below. We pause our journey for Devonshire Tea at Lake Barrine Teahouse, sharing our discoveries over freshly-baked scones and locally-sourced tea and coffee, before a short drive to historic Yungaburra, where photo opportunities abound amid the 18 heritage-listed buildings.

On the outskirts of Yungaburra we enter under the cool canopy of Curtain Fig National Park, our expert guide sharing the unlikely story of how the 600+ year-old Curtain Fig Tree came to rest in its spectacular formation above the elevated rainforest boardwalk. Onwards via the historic dairy town of Malanda, we reach another must-do rainforest destination on the Atherton Tablelands — Milla Milla Falls. Surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, the falls are an iconic image of Far North Queensland, not to mention an essential place to swim and shower as the cool rainforest waters cascade from 20 metres above.

A refreshing morning swim behind us, we wind our way to the coastal town of Innisfail for a lunch stop, before priority entry into the heritage-listed gardens and architectural delights of Paronella Park. A guided tour reveals several fascinating chapters of this park’s rich 90-year history amongst the colourful tropical gardens, then you’re free to explore the rest of its treasure trove of offerings — Mena Creek and Theresa Falls, the miniature bats of the Tunnel of Love, and you can even feed the fish and platypuses!

  • DAY 2. CAIRNS TO THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

The Great Barrier Reef is an international icon and now it’s your time to experience it for yourself. This amazing full day tour takes you to the Great Barrier Reef, with up to 6 hours spent exploring it from above and below the water. Enjoy unlimited snorkeling, with equipment and instruction provided, at 2 different reef sites. Want to try scuba diving for the first time? You can do it for free today. There’s also glass bottom boat tours, pending conditions, and plenty of time to just relax on board the boat too.

This great value day tour is packed with inclusions. All meals and snacks, including a bacon and egg roll in the morning, fresh buffet lunch, iced water and tea and coffee throughout the day with cheese, wine and biscuits served on the way back. There’s complimentary sunblock available on board the boat and an interactive Marine Biology presentation, will reveal the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef ecosystem and some of its creatures.

If you’re staying in the Cairns CBD, bus transfers to and from your accommodation to the boat are included. There’s an extra charge for those on the Northern Beaches. All snorkel and dive equipment and instruction are provided and included in the tour price. BYO towel.

  • DAY 3. DAINTREE RAINFOREST & CAPE TRIBULATION

Today it’s all about the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed Rainforest, with a premium day tour to the Daintree National Park. You’ll travel in small group style, aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Stopping to enjoy the sights, sounds and ambience of this complex tropical environment, throughout the day.

We start with pick-ups from Cairns and the Northern Beaches. Those guests will enjoy a scenic tour on the Great Barrier Reef drive, to Port Douglas. After collecting any additional guests it’s a quick trip to the top of Flagstaff Hill lookout for views over 4 Mile Beach. From here, we head to the rainforest, starting our exploration at Mossman Gorge. After a cold drink, or local tea and coffee, you’ll take a guided tour of the Gorge, with the option of swimming in the crystal-clear waters. Afterwards, enjoy a restaurant lunch with choice of meals, before we continue our adventure with a 1-hour cruise on the mighty Daintree River.

Then we head into the Daintree National Park and explore the rainforest, on a guided boardwalk tour. We visit the famous Cape Tribulation Beach, where the reef meets the rainforest, and stop by the Daintree Ice-Cream Company in the afternoon. Here you have the option of purchasing a tropical fruit ice-cream (at your own expense), before we head back to Port Douglas, the beaches and Cairns. BYO towel if you want to swim at Mossman Gorge.

  • DAY 4. SKYRAIL RAINFOREST CABLEWAY – KURANDA VILLAGE – KURANDA SCENIC RAILWAY

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway glides just metres over the rainforest on a 7.5km journey, from Caravonica to Kuranda. Travelling in 6-person gondola cabins, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Barron Gorge National Park, Barron Gorge itself and Barron Falls. There’s two mid-station stops along the way, where you can explore the rainforest on boardwalks and pathways, including a cantilevered bridge over the Gorge.

The Skyrail journey to Kuranda takes around 90-minutes, if you stop at both the Red Peak and Barron Falls Stations. Stopping is highly recommended, there’s Ranger guided tours and a range of interpretive displays and materials. Skyrail ends at Kuranda, the Village in the Rainforest, and is adjacent to the railway terminal, where you’ll commence your trip back at the end of the day.

Kuranda is a quaint village, full of markets, shops, boutiques, cafes, galleries, restaurants and tourist attractions. It also has self-guided walking trails. Enjoy a few hours here, where you can tailor your time to suit your interests. Lunch is at your own expense. In the afternoon, you return to Cairns on Kuranda Scenic Railway. This historic journey takes you back through the Barron Gorge National Park, providing a completely different and complementary experience to Skyrail. Another great day, in our natural paradise.
