Join us on our fun filled and informative day tour from Cairns to Cooktown.  Travelling in an air conditioned, purpose built 4WD coach which caters specifically to small groups with a maximum of just 12 passengers.  The Northbound journey we head along the tropical coastline on our way to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.  Then we tackle some 4WD’ing along the Bloomfield Track before we arrive in Cooktown.  During our time in Cooktown, aside from seeing the beautiful sights, you’ll be treated to an old fashion, tasty pub lunch and entry into James Cook Museum!  The Southbound journey will have us returning via the inland road which provides very different scenery to the coast.  Stopping at the mysterious Black Mountain and Australia’s richest alluvial gold fields at Palmer River before arriving back into Cairns.  A big day, but well worth it!

Northbound Journey

Once we leave the Northern Beaches of Cairns, we travel North towards Port Douglas on what is a truly scenic coastal road. The views of the Coral Sea along this part of our journey are awesome.Pass through the pretty sugar producing town of Mossman

Cross the mighty Daintree River by ferry

Enjoy the lush, tropical, ancient Daintree Rainforest, and look for Cassowaries

Visit where “the rainforest meets the reef” & enjoy a stroll on secluded Thornton Beach

Having left Cape Tribulation, we’re now ready to tackle the iconic 4WD Bloomfield Track!

Encounter creek crossings, inclines, declines whilst taking in the stunning scenery along the way

Follow the Bloomfield River before we cross it at Wujal Wujal, certainly worth a photo!

Visit the legendry 1875 Lions Den Hotel for a well deserved “coldy”!

Finally, the charming, historic township of Cooktown, nestled between the mouth of the Endeavour River and Grassy Hill with Mt Cook as the backdrop.

During our time in beautiful Cooktown, aside from seeing the sights, you’ll be treated to an old fashion,  tasty pub lunch at the historic, 1874 Cooktown Hotel, then we’re paying your admission into Australia’s best regional museum, the James Cook Museum!
